In May 2008 President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Thomas S. Monson, announced the Church’s desire to build a Temple in the Phoenix Arizona Area. The Temple is planned to be constructed on property, along Pinnacle Peak Road, which the Church has owned since 2000. In 2009 following the Church’s request to change the zoning on their property, opposition from neighbors began. That opposition has since intensified and there has been much said concerning the Temple, but unfortunately not all is true.
